Commonly, HDPE PE100 Enviropressure pipe or fittings are joined together using butt welding or electrofusion welding. Successful welded joints rely on a number of factors, one of which is the need for the joint to be free of contaminants prior to assembly and welding.
Moisture, dust and dirt, hand and barrier creams, sunscreen, detergents, and surfactant used in direction drilling, oils and greases on gloves could contaminate surfaces. Preparation of the scraped or peeled surface should involve cleaning with ISO wipes.

Commonly, HDPE PE100 Enviropressure pipe or fittings are joined together using butt welding or electrofusion welding. Successful welded joints rely on a number of factors, one of which is the need for the joint to be free of contaminants prior to assembly and welding.
Strongly adhered dirt, and thin oxide layers can contaminate a welded joint. Preparation of pipe ends is usually accomplished with mechanised shavers or peelers. for saddle type electrofusion joints, scraping the outside of the pipe by hand may be the only option.

Commonly, Envirostorm PE100 pipe mains are joined to DWV pipes using rubber couplings.
In order to install the rubber couplings onto the Envirostorm pipe a hole needs to be drilled centred over a valley between the external pipe corrugations.

Antibacterial Pipe Lubricant

Commonly, Envirostorm PE100 pipes are joined with rubber ring joints which are required to be lubricated with an approved lubricant before pushing the pipes together.
For use with drinking water systems the pipes need to be flushed to remove product prior to use in accordance with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. The lubricant is approved for use to a maximum water temperature of 60°C.
